**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in Cincinnati, OH seeks an experienced business reporter to cover all facets of the commercial and residential real estate market, with emphasis on producing a steady stream of scoops, breaking news and trends and enterprise that breaks new ground. This person will have a minimum of five years experience working for a major news organization, and be proficient and committed to a digital audience in addition to print.
Excellent reporting and writing skills are required. We’re looking for speed and accuracy in producing top-notch, fast-breaking reports and scoops for online. We’re looking for context and human impact in full-bodied reports for print. The person we hire will have a command of key players in the commercial and residential real estate markets, and an ability to show how specific developments and trends potential impact the region as a whole. The successful candidate must either be skilled in database analysis or show a willingness to quickly learn and develop those skills in order to break stories and enrich the reporting.
Sub beats include covering a handful of public companies, including Ashland, Scripps, General Cable and Omnicare.
Our next reporter will deliver timely graphic information and photo requests that are on point with the story at hand. We’re always searching for new and interesting ways to present complex economics reports online; we expect our new reporter will help us move in that direction. Our reporter also should own the social network space for his or her beats. He or she will be a strategic planner, communicating carefully with editors. He or she also will be comfortable assembling, convening and leading occasional roundtables of local real estate experts to discuss prevailing issues of the day.
