Summary of Job Purpose and Function
The Corporate Affairs intern will provide administrative, public and media relations, internal communications and creative support to the Corporate Affairs team in their daily activities.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team. • Perform general administrative duties. • Compose writing for external and internal audiences. • Media outreach and recap coordination. • Provide support for community outreach and events. • Assist with general communications project coordination and support . • Special projects, as assigned/needed. • Support any internal events managed by the Corporate Affairs team. • Other job duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and/or Training
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities or current pursuit of a degree in Journalism, Communications or Marketing, having completed at least three years of college coursework. • Strong writing and organizational skills with attention to detail required. • Previous relevant professional experience or transferable extra-curricular activities required. • Previous experience working with the media is preferred. • Proficiency with standard office technology (MS Office software applications, office equipment, etc.) preferred. • Prefer health care background (veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.).
