Examples of Work:
This key position is responsible to coordinate, facilitate, and implement agency communications and to develop and implement effective agency-wide communication and marketing strategies for employees and agency customers. Will work with Agency Director, Division Administrators and/or designees, HR representatives and others in the agency to gather information needed to develop communications and to select the appropriate channel to communicate information while ensuring the appropriate message is identified and conveyed. In addition, the position is also responsible to create and update the agency's website and intranet and to write, create, distribute, and edit agency communications through a variety of media including website, e-mail, newsletters, intranet, flyers, signage, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, social media, video, official correspondence, and to prepare written remarks, talking points, or other oral presentations on behalf of the Director, Administrators or designees; social media, and video. Other duties include giving presentations, coordinating agency special events and charity drives, and other special projects as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, public relations, communications, advertising, creating writing, or related field. Experience in developing, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities or public information programs may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: principles and practices of organizational communication, public relations, website design and content management, marketing principles, writing in the English language including spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, word usage, grammar, and creativity; communication channels and media • Skill in: writing content appropriate for a variety of audiences; graphic design; web design; problem solving •
Ability to: multi-task while working on simultaneous projects; prioritize work; work independently; facilitate meetings; manage projects; speak in front of large audiences
