KSPR, the up and coming ABC affiliate in Springfield, MO is looking for a dynamic and energetic weekend anchor to be part of a hard-working news team. The successful candidate will anchor on weekends and report several days a week. Candidates should be able to wear several hats in a smaller newsroom. Candidates should be able to anchor, report, non-linear edit, help write the newscast and run their own teleprompter. Daily contributions to the web and social media are required. Experience tracking down stories and getting sources you can work on a daily basis is a must. If youre a person whose passion is news, then you are the person were looking for in our newsroom. If you can come into the editorial meetings with several local hard-news stories each day, then you are the anchor/reporter we would like on our team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Anchoring newscasts, cut-ins and promosPosting several times daily to the web (video and writing stories)Posting several times daily to Facebook, blogs and Twitter - creative ideas about growth in social media are welcomeLive on-the-scene reporting several times a week, especially breaking news and severe weatherRepresentation of our station at public events. Several monthly community events or speaking engagements are required; station is very active in the community. Gather and provide news and information in the most accurate, appealing, timely and creative way using all sourcesProduce stories for daily newscasts and websiteDevelop and maintain sources Demonstrate sound news judgment and ability to tell stories with pictures and natural soundMust be able to utilize non-linear editing equipment on a daily basis.Enterprise hard-news stories under tight deadlinesParticipate in story selection process through meetings; attendance at editorial meetings is requiredMentor (train and lead) less-experienced staff membersPost several daily web stories, video, polls, links as well as put posts on Twitter and FacebookWrite stories Fill-in producing for newscast is sometimes part of the jobWrite and edit pkgsLive reporting will be required in the fieldMust be willing to experiment drive our newsroom to the next levelBe willing to pitch in when necessary with other jobsReport stories with viewer benefit researched based storiesMust be a visual storyteller and have the ability to come up with creative stand-ups and ways to explain a story.
