This is a great opportunity to lead the editorial strategy for an online video magazine that trends across 5 verticals; fashion, travel, lifestyle, design and art. They are already working with global premium brand and high-profile media partners. They are now taking their business to the next level!
They need an innovative, future-thinking and uber talented Editorial Director to join them in their London offices.
Your role would be to run content creation across all of their media businesses, driving the editorial direction of their site and managing the wider editorial team and commissioning process.
To be considered for this role you should have:
Journalistic abilities:
Strong journalistic and editorial background in digital media, particularly video content
Ability to capture and engage our demanding audience of culturally curious, global citizens to entertain, inform and inspire them daily, appealing both to a large and niche interest group
Passion to break news and to find the ‘story behind the story’ – not just following press releases
Proven success in securing exclusive content
Deep understanding, contacts and passion for culture, the arts, design, fashion, travel and other lifestyle content globally and being “on the pulse” with emerging trends in these areas
Experience in creating additional journalistic elements around video content to drive audience interaction e.g. tagging, social media plans, seeding, teasers, episodes
Extensive knowledge of SEO
Experience managing contributors including one-off/regular contributions from high-profile bloggers, musicians, artists, designers
A strong base knowledge of creating video content for the web, including experiences gained from working with videographers and video editors, producing video packages and interviewing on and off camera
A creative eye and a strong sense of the various elements required to produce an engaging web video feature
A knowledge of DSLR workflow and editing software such as Final Cut Pro would be advantageous, but not essential.
