Public Relations Coordinator - Part Time
Job Description: (6 month plus contract position)
Part Time – Approximately 20 hours per week.
This role is responsible for helping the PR Director track and manage the company's image, primarily in the media, while helping to generate positive exposure.
This role incorporates a variety of responsibilities including writing, editing, analysis, database management, group administration and media relations for an even broader range of business units. This department handles public relations for all areas of the company, including corporate, product, community, government affairs and our various lines of business.
Clipping for client's banking news and issues; posting and distribution
Analyzing media coverage (with PR Director)
Editing client press releases - tracking down approvals, ensuring accuracy of mention and messaging, posting
Proofing/ editing as needed
Basic admin support for invoices, reprint orders, publication subscriptions
Transitioning media coverage into sales tools
Posting/ sharing all PR content (announcements, press coverage, op-eds, contributed articles, awards
Reporting, based on quarterly results
Completing award applications and listings
Identifying media opportunities through editorial calendars
Developing new programs as needed with the PR Director
Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications role in-house or with an agency
Knowledge of commercial banking and venture capital a plus.
Good understanding of media relations and public communication.
Detail-oriented.
Excellent writing and proofing skills.
Good analytical, organizational and project management skills.
Education
: Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism or related field.
