Executive Journalist Jobs
Executives help newspaper and magazine editors manage the style and content of written publications such as newspapers, magazines, and trade journals. They advise and oversee the overall editorial direction of a publication, or they may be responsible for an individual section. The executives are responsible for commissioning articles too. Executives also decide which articles will be included in the publication and decide how they will be laid out for publishing. Executives consider submissions for inclusion from freelance journalists, photographers, and illustrators. Executives also rarely have responsibility for other matters such as budgetary control, hiring staff, and working with advertising and production departments.
To become an executive, the job candidate should be a post graduate in English Literature or journalism or should possess any media degree. Experience with small editing firms and content companies are also useful for securing higher executive post.
