Assistant Journalist Jobs

The journalist assistant is required to follow up and edit contributors\' and columnists\' articles. Assistants also assist in producing newsletters, brochures, flyers, and pamphlets. They also provide coverage for company events. Assistants attend meetings to plan the content and also suggest ideas for articles to writers and officers that will be of interest to the bulk audience. He or she also provides ample coverage, interviews and write articles of assigned beats. The journalist assistant prepares all articles and photos for editor’s final approval before forwarding to layout artist. The journalist assistant has to proofread and approve whole section before printing and assist the writer in collecting information. He or she gathers information and write a factual and non-opinionated story about the coverage assigned.

Any graduate who is well versed in writing press releases and good in expression is qualified for the post. Experience working in a PR or media firm is welcome.
