News Journalist Jobs
News journalists, or reporters, source, research and write stories for publication in local, regional and national press - and, increasingly, newspaper websites. News journalists work in different range of circumstances building contacts to maintain a flow of news, e.g. police and emergency services, local councils, and community organizations. They are always seeking out and investigating stories via your contacts, press releases, other media, etc. The News journalist also attends press conferences and asks different queries. The News journalist also attends a variety of events, such as council meetings, magistrates' court proceedings, football matches, talent contests, etc. Sometimes they also have to man the phones on the news desk and give apt reactions to breaking news stories. The News journalist creates and uploads news content for the newspaper website too.
Most new entrants to newspaper journalism are graduates, increasingly with a relevant pre-entry qualification. Pre-entry courses for graduates of any discipline include full-time one-year postgraduate courses. They should have strong written and oral communication skills
