Through our family of apps and services, we're building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together. Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technology Communications Associate Manager to join the Facebook New Product Experimentation’s (NPE) communications team. As a member, you will own external and internal communications workstreams showing how NPE is building for the hardest to reach people, often underrepresented or overlooked. You’ll work cross-functionally to communicate with journalists and other thought leaders, devise campaigns and materials, lead face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers, demonstrate strong 0-1 product communications strategy, and own internal communications for programs like company hackathons.

We're looking for a strategic communicator who can understand complex issues and explain them clearly in person and in writing. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives as a member of a tightly coordinated team, is comfortable moving between ambiguity and clarity, and is inspired to communicate about how Facebook innovates for underrepresented people.

Required Skills:

Strategically manage internal and external communications for NPE with a focus on building for young, urban communities, new incubations, and company hackathons.

Help drive messaging and narrative development for NPE, including writing blog posts, press statements, social posts etc.

Work cross-functionally with partners like marketing, product, policy, legal, privacy, and engineering to refine communications in a consistent message that tells strong stories.

Engage with reporters, editors, and other influencers to showcase Facebook's leadership in innovation.

Partner with Head of NPE Communications to inform broader corporate and executive communications strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications or related field.

4 years of work experience in external communications or media relation.

Experience with media relations across tech, business, and consumer publications.

Experience drafting narratives and working with executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and excitement for technology.

Experience in PR/Communications for a VC, startup, or agency.
