Job DescriptionThe Director Video Production is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the video production and post production groups of the Content and Creative function at HSN. This includes developing strategies and tactics to fulfill HSN's video production, video editing and motion graphics content marketing needs for use across all customer touch points including on-air, hsn.com, social, mobile, OTT and developing platforms along with non-owned channels.To support these efforts this role is accountable for establishing long-term goals and objectives, leading projects, the evaluation and continuous improvement of workflow processes, training and development of team and providing creative direction and resources. Critical to the role is the ability to create alignment between the company's short term needs and long-term business goals of elevating content, enhancing the shopping experience and expanding HSN's audience. To enable the elevation of quality through staff skill development, technology enhancements and challenging legacy norms, this role will directly partner with leads of Creative and Photography Production Operations.This role is responsible for the creation and management of budgets as part of Content Production & Creative leadership team and the HSN business unit goals. Responsible for overseeing a team of managers and supervisors - leading them in the management of their teams. HSN is a video retailer and this role will be responsible for developing and executing the video strategy for the HSN Business Unit.Working cross-functionally across multiple levels of the company, the Director Video Production is responsible for defining the direction and evolution of pre-produced video content and it's utilization for specific business goals. Create, communicate and lead the creative direction and aesthetic for video production across our platforms. Responsible for creative decisions and aesthetic direction of our video content. The Director, Video Production uses independent judgment to assess the effectiveness of all non-live video content and owns the executional direction. The role is responsible for providing creative leadership and creative direction with respect to look and style of the produced content.Oversee the leadership, project management and execution of over one thousand video projects and delivery of thousands of video assets per year.Strength connecting multi-dimensional business knowledge to identify the types of video content that will deliver the biggest ROI; Engages directly with eComm, Interactive, Programming, Broadcasting and Marketing leadership to target opportunities. This function will include a large team of Content Producers, Writer/Producers, Multimedia Producers, Videographers, Video Editors, Audio Engineer's, Motion Graphic Artists, Remote Production team and all their support staff.Responsible for establishing, measuring and reacting to predefined goals including data like views, engagement, sales and customer experience.Ability to lead team in identifying, evaluating and addressing continuous improvement of workflow process opportunities.Partnering with the Resource Planning and Workflow teams to ensure team productivity, scheduling and project management.Accountable for continuing the development and application of a scalable staffing model designed to meet evolving business needs.Oversee multiple cost centers to ensure budgets are created, maintained and managed effectively.Ensure compliant application of HSN practices with regard to on-camera talent, shoot locations, crew travel and production expenses.Act as a business leader on numerous IT and Engineering enhancements including: Media Asset Management, Production Asset Management, Digital Asset Management, production software and tools, product creation systems and measurement toolsOperate s with a high level of autonomy and uses independent judgment and creativity to deliver key business results. Leading and motivating a team of content specialists in writing, directing, producing, videography, lighting, motion graphics, editing and sound design Create and communicate a compelling vision for the teamDevelop the next generation of content development leadershipEstablish short and long term budget, equipment and space requirement for a growing segment of the businessLead the research and testing of new equipment, ensuring efficiency in producing defined content as well as establishing equipment needs for developing platforms.Establish technical equipment priorities in concert with functional partners to drive tech improvements across studio yielding increased productivity, cost savings and enhanced workflow. Expertise delivering creative video content, strategy and direction for: TV, Web - HSN.com, Email, Social (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc...) Deep technical understanding acting as a SME on the power of technology on creative execution, customer experiences and efficiency.
