We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, coaching skills, a passion for winning the big story, and an overall winning attitude. We are looking for an experienced manager who can work with a group of Multimedia Journalists on our day to day coverage in a hands-on working environment as well as working with our producers to showcase great content, winning the big story on-air and online.\r\rAs the number two person in the news department your responsibilities will include but not limited to:\r\r\rAssist the News Director with supervisory responsibilities for all news broadcasts, online digital content and day to day news operations\rAssist in initiating and managing content delivery on multiple platforms including day to day story development with reporter MMJ's\rWriting copy and edit scripts for air and web as well as knowledge and proficiency in posting content to station websites and social media\rAssist the News Director in reviewing daily newscasts to ensure quality control and brand compliancy, provide coaching and feedback to all news staff\rSchedule multi-media journalists and newsroom staff\rAssist in recruiting, hiring for news department personnel\rDevelop with News Director strategies to increase ratings and audience in multiple platforms as well as working to develop and establish ratings goals, and effectively reach said goals with the news management team\rPerform other duties as assigned\r\r\rQualifications:\r\r\rMust have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws\rMust have at least 2 years of News Manager experience\rMust have a Journalism degree or related field\rMust have demonstrated ability to manage multiple hours of daily newscasts as a previous Executive Producer or Producer with a proven track record of success in building quality newscasts\rProven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment\rAdvanced oral and written communication skills\rWork with the Digital Executive Producer and Content Producers on social media strategies and digital content\r\r\r\rSinclair Broadcast Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Workplace. \r\r *LI-SP1\r\r\r\r\r
