We are seeking an experienced Content Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team. The Content Marketing Specialist will collaborate with marketing and product team members on the strategy and development of key marketing assets. The Content Marketing Specialist will create engaging written and visual content that attracts and converts prospects into high-quality leads for our sales team. He/she will transform product messaging that maps to the buyer’s journey, and deliver assets that engage and drive buyers forward on the journey. He/she will develop the content strategy for individual assets, in conjunction with the product marketing team, and will write and edit content, select visual treatment, select the best channels for distribution, and measures asset success.
This is an ideal role for a Marketing Content professional with experience in the K-12 education technology sector who has worked closely with both product marketing and sales teams. The Content Marketing Specialist should have a solution-selling and buyer use-case mindset, be able to appeal to buyers’ business priorities, and be able to easily communicate technical topics in business terms. The Content Marketing Specialist should be a driven self-starter; able to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously; confident in making decisions and recommendations; and able to see and seize opportunities which will lead to company growth and success.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Create compelling marketing assets, including whitepapers, user stories, email campaign content, blog posts, video, infographics, e-books, web content and social posts;
Find innovative ways to share and distribute content across multiple social and paid channels;
Write original content, identify and manage both inside and outside contributors, and manage and edit content;
Collaborate with product marketing and product management to understand go-to-market strategies and priorities, as well as messaging and positioning;
With product marketing, map marketing content strategy to buyers’ journeys and sales lead acquisition strategy;
Continually research the market to understand terminology, emerging trends, keywords and competitive messaging;
Translate technical content, including product features and functionality, into concise, actionable, differentiated, value-based sales messaging.
4 years of product marketing and/or content development experience for education technology, SaaS or software product company(ies);
Excellent writing and editing skills as well as exceptional communication skills overall;
Experience writing about technology products and solutions for an enterprise or IT buyer;
Ability to think strategically and creatively, and solve problems independently;
Strong skills with MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
Experience with a marketing automation system a necessity; HubSpot a strong plus;
Experience with video development a strong plus;
Experience with solution-selling sales methodologies a plus; The Challenger Sale a strong plus;
Experience with graphics and publishing tools, such as InDesign, a strong plus;
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism or English.
