We are seeking an experienced Communications Manager, Health Technology, to join the Facebook communications team. This candidate will join a team working on emerging technologies, applications, and devices. The Health Technology team supports our mission to discover, develop, and deliver health and wellness tools that have the opportunity to improve public health outcomes, at Facebook scale.
The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator with solid knowledge of the digital health and wellness space. This is an individual who enjoys looking around corners, anticipating trends, and going deep on product; is comfortable working on emerging technologies; demonstrates a bias for action; and has experience collaborating with executives, cross functional partners and third parties. They will have experience creating and driving public relations campaigns that support consumer, business, product, and technology communications.
In this role, you'll work closely with product managers, marketers, engineers, researchers, policy, communications peers, and cross-functional partners across the organization and company, driving communications strategy for platform and products in the digital health space.
Lead the health and wellbeing communications work across apps, services, and devices alongside product communications leads and researchers
Develop proactive communications strategy to support health and wellbeing product launches and proactive campaigns
Media relations: leverage existing contacts, and establish and maintain strong relationships with reporters
Develop messaging, prepare spokespeople and serve as a spokesperson as needed
Partner with corporate and policy communications on crisis and proactive planning as it relates to establishing Facebook’s reputation in the digital health space
Support the public presence of the health team, including speaking opportunities and industry thought leadership
Partner with corporate communications to provide oversight on acquisitions, partnerships, and integrations
Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications or related field
5 years of work experience in external communications or media relations
A background in technology and experience in health technology, devices, or clinical services
A background in consumer hardware
In-house communications experience
Crisis communications experience
