Too often, financial language is obscure and promotional — leaving people feeling confused or, worse, manipulated. We’re changing all that with clean, approachable language and experiences that put our users first and help make personal finance simple to understand and interesting to learn about.
As a qualified candidate, you have excellent copywriting skills — you’re succinct, clear, engaging — and understand how copy affects the usability of a product, app or landing page. You’ll partner with UX designers, product managers, and researchers to enhance our experiences and be directly responsible for decisions that shape the future of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
This role sits on the Design and User Experience team and reports into the Head of Copy.
Where you can make an impact:
Influence and be involved in every aspect of product development, from Discovery to fixing a comma right before launch.
Create and improve user experiences through great design, clear UI elements, and helpful messages.
Collaborate closely with designers to plan, write and improve copy for web and mobile, including interaction flows, transactional emails, app launches, nav language and more (lots more).
Carry out the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. mission by making financial terms, products and services feel human and accessible with language that brings the brand to life, even in the smallest microcopy.
Write for usability and interaction while keeping user needs and project goals top of mind.
Regularly share your work and provide thoughtful feedback to teammates.
Product visionary: Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (not just ‘what it should say’ but ‘what we should build’).
Highly collaborative: You strive to partner cross-functionally to build the very best product/user experiences.
You thrive in an environment of fast feedback loops and a mindset of rapid prototyping and iteration.
You understand the technical limitations behind your designs and can effectively communicate your ideas to engineers.
You have experience in building and shipping web and/or mobile product.
5 years of experience as a UX copywriter OR content strategist.
Ability to think big and understand complex feature sets.
A knack for distilling complicated topics into language anyone can grasp.
Passion for great user experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with agile methodologies.
Experience writing about financial products (think credit cards, banking, mortgages/loans, insurance or investing).
