What you will do

Reporting to the Director, Sales Enablement (Proposals, Grants, and more), this role is instrumental in creating, improving, organizing, governing, and distributing proposal content. The role will establish strategy and guidelines that add real value to the user experience with our content management tool while contributing to tangible brand goals and business objectives. This position serves as an expert in researching, developing and maintaining current and relevant content about Johnson Controls business offerings/solutions and corporate value propositions to respond to customer needs. This role will synchronize content strategy with the creative, user experience and technical components to fully develop meaningful, educational, and persuasive content for proposals, presentations and customer collateral. The Content Manager determines what content is needed by the Sales Enablement Team, how that content will be obtained and maintained, and ensures that it is useful, usable, accurate and desirable.

How you will do it

1.Develop a complete content strategy for building, organizing, managing, administering, and maintaining the Sales Enablement Teams content management platform.

2.Write and edit new and/or update existing content which delivers maximum benefit to our internal and external clients.

a.Create new content and edit existing content in coherence with the overall Johnson Controls strategic direction.

b.Support content development or changes per new products and services additions.

c.Manage content and overall build of content using Qvidian.

3.Work with subject matter experts throughout the entire Johnson Controls organization to both maintain and update existing content within a variety of media, and create new content based on business needs, changes, or new product / service offerings.

4.Champion and increase understanding of content services within the business

5.Define asset types appropriate to support content, work with marketing, sales, engineering, and other subject matter experts to support their vision and direction.

6.Lead strategy around the development and testing of Sales Enablement Team content that will allow our organization more flexibility, improve tracking, provide metrics, and function as a responsive tool for deployment of content.

7.Develop and manage Content Management System (Qvidian) and governance models, including processes and dependencies such as key roles (e.g. author, editor, approver, reviewer etc.) and responsibilities per role

a.Develop, maintain, and enforce editorial style guidelines

b.Create taxonomy/nomenclature lists and definitions

c.Identify key processes, procedures and dependencies

d.Assess, catalog, and organize technology showcase content

e.Assign and track new content development

8.Ability to interpret business objectives and user needs into interactive content.

9.Contribute to the internal SharePoint site for the Sales Enablement Team.

10.Train new hires to the Sales Enablement Team on the content management tool and provides recurrent refresher training.

11.Answer requests for content from the field teams and Sales Enablement Team.

12.During closeout process, reviews and organizes new content to be added to the Qvidian library

13.All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we look for

Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent. Minimum of 6 years of experience creating/writing content for business-to-business collaterals, technical writing, or proposal development. Advanced knowledge and experience with content management systems (CMS) and functions, databases, content migrations, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge and experience with Qvidian highly desirable. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong people management skills (work cross functionally, facilitate strong teams, problem solver). Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced/team focused environment.
