Basic Purpose

Responsible for working in harmony with the Manager Marketing Operations to ensure the marketing production team operates efficiently and effectively. Monitors the completion of projects at the appropriate time. Provide operational oversight, supervision and guidance to the Marketing Production team. Serves as subject matter expert for established processes and procedures, and ensures compliance with related documentation and operating practices.

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of the day-to-day workflow for all production, traffic and quality control of projects and tasks; ensure aggressive timelines for a high volume of projects are met while achieving quality results

• Manage, mentor and develop the Marketing Production team; ensure the team has proper resources to successfully execute their roles; provide support and feedback, develop solutions when appropriate

• Identify and resolve operational and performance gaps and obstacles; make recommendations and implement approved changes and improvements

• Supervise resources in support of planned initiatives; assign project team members when needed; serve as point of contact for projects

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, and senior management, as well as external vendors; such as Project Management, Product Reps, Creative Services, Procurement, Forms and Compliance

• Maintain working knowledge of the print production and operations process, including quality control and traffic; provide recommendations for improvements where appropriate

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity of requirements documents effectively convey business processes and needs

• Keep marketing and advertising staff and management appraised of industry best practices by maintaining current knowledge of marketing production industry through professional associations, conferences, seminars, and Navy Federal news and information sources

• Audit existing quality assurance techniques and processes; provide recommendations for improvements and implement

• Monitor the day-to-day quality assurance techniques and the progress of projects to ensure that goals and objectives have been met

• Provide oversight and guidance to traffic manager to ensure all project schedules are maintained; maintain holistic view of all marketing jobs

• Support the efforts to track workload allocation, to update time estimates and to create project prioritization in Marketing’s project management tool

• Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities

o Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees

o Establish performance goals and priorities

o Prepare, conduct and review performance appraisals

o Develop, mentor and counsel staff

o Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy

o Ensure efficiency of operations

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Business Administration or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience Significant experience working with marketing operation management applications and utilizing their capabilities/functions in managing and monitoring team activities

• Significant skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions

• Advanced skill recruiting, retaining, coaching and motivating employees to achieve production results

• Significant experience leading, guiding & mentoring others

• Significant organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, and exercise a high degree of initiative

• Significant interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff

• Advanced knowledge of marketing, advertising, direct response, corporate communications principles, and marketing communication production processes

• Experience in editing copy and proofreading marketing material

• Advanced skill to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a demanding, fast paced environment

• Significant experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects

• Significant experience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals

• Significant experience in leading, guiding and mentoring others

• Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines

• Significant experience to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely

• Advanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

• Advanced skill with database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

• Desired – Experience in the marketing industry, operations and print production environment

• Desired – Working knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives

• Desired – Knowledge of systems and software used at Navy Federal

• Desired – Working knowledge of state and Federal laws; industry regulations, principles, and practices; and company policies that govern the business unit’s products/services

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
