Reporter Jobs

The reporter collects and analyzes information about newsworthy events to write news stories. They are then utilized for publication or broadcast. The reporter also receives assignment or evaluates news leads and news tips to develop story ideas. The reporter is also responsible of gathering and verifying factual information regarding story through interview, observation, and research. He or she has to organize material, determine slant or emphasis, and write stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards. The reporter may also have to monitor police and fire department radio communications to obtain story leads. The reporter has to be on the toes and might appear on television program when conducting taped or filmed interviews or narration. He or she may give live reports from site of event or mobile broadcast unit.

The job candidate for this position has to be a graduate in media, journalism, or advertising. Ample experience can result in better pay and position.
