Journalist Director Jobs description
The Director provides journalism advice and communications counsel to the senior management of the company, helping to enhance the company\\\'s success by applying proactive and reactive publicity strategies. The Director also plans the overall media relations plan for the other in-house staff that executes press outreach, media events, media calls, collateral, crisis communications support and press material development. The Director creates journalistic programs that positively position their company about their magazine or newspaper or website. The Director is responsible for developing, planning, and strategic oversight of domestic and international media firms. He has to foresee and develop and maintain departmental budget, approve media press releases, and web content produced by staff, agencies, and contractors.The candidate for the position of the Director should have the following attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically including expertise in AP style.
- At least 7-10 years of PR experience with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience supervising employees.
